It's been a long time coming, volume 28 of the Exclusive Mix series featuring the sounds from Subtle Mind. Chances are that either you are already familiar with them or you've heard some of their tunes being played around. Deep soulful vibes with a strong presence and jazz tones is how I would try to describe their sound. I was fortunate enough to seen them play a few times, but even more fortunate to experience their first live show, at the legendary Rocksteady Club by the JukeBounceWerk crew, with guest live bass by Dubsworth, Tony Sangiacomo on Sax, guest vocals by Ill Chill and more. It was worth the trip to LA on a Tuesday night to experience it, great night all around + tasty ramen.
Anyways, check out their questionnaire + mix below!

Real name:
Austin Overton and Paul Morgante
What is the best thing about making/mixing tunes:
Seeing the reaction from a crowd or knowing that a track spurred some sort of emotion in someone.
Your favorite studio gear:
Favorite and most useful current piece of studio gear would be the Novation Launchkey… not overly exciting, I know haha.
What artist inspires/motivates you:
Calibre
Life changing album:
Miles Davis - Bitches Brew
Production tip:
Patience can’t be overstated in the early stages of production. It’s also helpful to A-B your work with professionally mastered, released music if you’re not sure whether your mix will stand up on a club system.
Something people don't know about you:
I made 96 out of 100 free throws once.
Favorite food joint:
Pho Huynh Hiep 6 aka Kevin's Noodle House in Walnut Creek, CA… go with #17, trust.
